Hamilton Island Race Week – Take part in Australia’s most prestigious race event on a VOLVO 60. This beautiful tropical island attracts over 200 yachts for a week of competitive racing and fun. Short day races around the fantastic Whitsunday Islands and great social events.
Each year the event attracts around 200 yachts and in recent years, event organizers have welcomed entries from all over the globe.
This event offers one of the most competitive racing forums in the southern hemisphere. Yachts race in a number of divisions on different courses each day. The conditions in the Whitsundays are warm and pleasant, yet the racing is fierce.
VOLVO 60 campaign
Team training – For three days prior to the start you will train around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, perfecting skills in spinnaker handling and close quarters race techniques.
The regatta starts on August 20th 2010, and all crew will need to be in Australia for the three days training starting on the 17th August.
