Antigua Sailing Week is known as the granddaddy of all the Caribbean regattas, and is considered by many sailing aficionados to be one of the top five regattas in the world alongside Skandia Cowes Week and Cork Week and when you see it up close it's hard to disagree.
Over the years, Antigua Sailing Week has evolved from a regatta for local yachtsmen to an international event that spans five days (and more if you include the pre-event activities). Antigua Sailing Week attracts an average of 200 yachts, over 1500 participants, 5000 spectators and some of the biggest, fastest and most impressive sailing yachts in the world packed with Olympic, America's Cup and round the world sailors.
Antigua Sailing Week is the Formula 1 of yacht racing in the Caribbean where you can compete against the stars - with huge parties! It takes you from historic Nelson's Dockyard to Dickenson Bay and back.
Sailing in the sheltered waters of the Caribbean and the big rollers of the Atlantic, Antigua Sailing Week should be on every sailor's "must-do" list.
The Global Yacht Racing campaign
Our Antigua Sailing week regatta campaign starts on Wednesday before the start with three days of race preparation and yacht race training. During this period we will train and practice to be ‘race ready’ for the start of the impressive Antigua Sailing Week regatta on the Sunday. The next six days will see some impressive yacht racing over short courses and longer ocean races. With no lay day this year Antigua Sailing week regatta finishes on Thursday with the prize-giving on Friday.
10 days of yacht race practice, intense yacht racing and fun parties!
